My new routine is that I am waking early (5AM or so) and find this to be my very creative time.  I’m loving it!  My morning starts with meditation, journaling, reading and then I allow whatever else to come out.

This morning, I woke up really hungry.  I really wanted my amazing coconut probiotic yet we are OUT!  Jody is in LA today and will be able to bring some out yet that is not helping my cravings right now.  So what popped into my head next?  A cookie. Yep.  A cookie.  I want cookies for breakfast.  Instead of fighting the craving and eating everything else under the sun, I just gave in and ate a cookie!  Yes, I ate a cookie for breakfast.  We had cookies left over from Jody’s birthday and boy, are they good.  They are from our favorite bakery in LA.  As far as cookies go, they are THE BOMB.  Chocolate chip peanut butter—gluten free, dairy free, soy free—yet packed full of taste.

Yes, there is sugar yet like all the other foods we eat, we have done our due diligence.  The sugar she uses is an organic coconut sugar.  No high fructose corn syrup, no cane sugar, none of the bad stuff.  Coconut sugar is a great alternative for sweets.  It has a low glycemic index hit which means your blood sugar does not spike as much as with sucrose or other forms of sugar.

So, feel like a cookie for breakfast?  Go for it.  Just make sure you have the best kind of cookie in your house for when those cravings hit ☺
